As with all writing sessions provided by the RWC, the tutors' goal is to help students develop techniques and skills in composing that not only meet their needs for a current writing assignment or project but that serve the students when they work on their future writing projects as well. To let tutors know how to assist most effectively, it's important that you ask specific questions that you want a tutor to address.
Online tutoring sessions can be more time consuming than face-to-face sessions, and tutors may not be able to respond to an entire essay. They will respond to as much of the essay as possible within a half-hour. Once you receive the comments, you may write back with requests for clarification and follow-up questions.
The online tutoring service is only availabe to active FSU students. Be sure to use or include your FSU email address when you submit a request for help. Tutors will only send comments on papers to fsu.edu email addresses.
Tutors will respond within 48 hours (Papers submitted Friday will receive response by Tuesday).
