Old English Fonts for the Mac

Problem: The MacIntosh does not support the special characters thorn or eth, and the critical edition of this text (as well as any other Old or Middle English text on the Web) contains more gibberish characters than readable ones.

Solution: Cathy Ball, Associate Professor of Linguistics at Georgetown University, has fashioned a font called Times Old English for the Mac. You'll find detailed instructions as to downloading and installing this font (and others) on the Fonts page of the Old English Pages
